About This Course
This course is an introduction to syntactic category and grammatical function. It introduces the notion of part of speech at hand which is considered as important to go through the other sections. this course is divides into two chapters : (1) parts of speech : basic definition, (2) Classifiying syntactic category and grmmatical function : parts of speech
Parts of speech course is designed to first year BMD Enlish students at Ibn Khaldoun University of Tiaret.
prerequisites
Recall, define and list the eight parts of speech ( noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb, preposition, conjunction, and interjection). - Explain the function of each part of speech in a sentence Identify parts of speech in a simple sentence - Distinguish betweeb similar parts of speech (e.g., adjectives Vs adverbs) through sentence construction - Break down sentences to analyse the role of each word based on its part of speech.
